This is the story of a debate that happened spontaneously between Shaykh Muhammad al-Amin al-Syinqithi rahimahullah (from Mauritania)-author of the book of Tafsir Adhwa 'al-Bayan, who died in 1393 H with one of Al-Azhar scholars who teach in Ma' Had Al-Ilmi in Riyadh, in hadapun Alu Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al-Shaykh Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at that time. This story shows the personality of a salafi scholar clever, brave and anti-taqlid. Also shows that the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah and defend its interests is to seek the truth, though truth is contrary to the opinions and fatwas teachers and ancestors.
Shaykh Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Amin bin Ahmad Al-Syinqithi tell this story in his book entitled 'Ma'a Ma.ialis Overdust ash-Shaykh Muhammad al-Amin al-Ash-Syinqithi Jakna'. The author told us: I was told by my teacher Shaykh Muhammad al-Amin al-Jakna ash-Syinqithi, he said:"When I got out of class, after teaching the material interpretation, I entered the break room mudarris. When the two Sheikhs; the noble Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Abdul lathif Alu ash-Shaykh and his brother ash-Shaykh Ibrahim bin Abdul lathif was the rest room, the first is the mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the second is to Ma'ahid DirekturUmum and Kulliyaat. When I entered the break room of a sudden mudarris mudarris of al-Azhar of Egypt said, "O thou Syinqith I heard you set the lesson in class that hell is eternal and will not be interminable siksanya?!".I replied, "Yes."He said, "How do you be willing for you, O Syinqith! You teach the children of the Muslims that hell is eternal and endless adzabnya, while Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab mujaddid both determined that hell would be extinguished and will essentially grow vegetables from Jirjir ?!!".I was still just left the Mauritanian desert atmosphere, then I get angry when made angry, then I say, "O Egyptians! You hear it, O people of Egypt ?!!".So the noble Shaykh Mufti Muhammad ibn Ibrahim said, "What do you say?"So noble then said, "May God prolong your age, we take lessons from you."Sheikh Amin Al-Syinqithi said, "Verily I say what I said after I examine the arguments used by Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah to establish schools of his Shaykh." And after Shaikh called his arguments from the Qur'an and Sunnah This theme comes in and after straightening all doubtful that a second opinion put forward by the followers of the difficult mentioned in this brief opportunity, and may refer back to his book.Then said Shaykh Mufti Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Abdul lathif Alu ash-Shaykh, 'Abdul Hai lathif (meaning his own brother who became general director of educational institutions and faculty), refer to the correct (al-haqq) is better than continuously in baatil.From sekarangtetapkan that hell is eternal (everlasting) and adzabnya relentless, and that the arguments in question is the abyss of hell is reserved for experts sinners from among the believers. While he believes his book in 4 eternal hell, namely, 'Ar-Ruh, al-Kafiyah Manzumah ash-Shafiyah, al-Wabil as-Shayyib, Prolegomena Zadil Ma'ad.
